Ebay is the best place to start when it comes to selling on auctions; with $60 billion of gross merchandise volume(in all of their marketplaces) in 2007, it’s hard to go wrong.  One of the main reasons why many people choose to sell on Ebay over their own website is because of the amount of instant traffic EBay is able to drive in.  On top of that the ease to use, as oppose of having to go through the trouble of designing your own website and getting it all set up; you can have your EBay store set up and ready to sell in a matter of a few days.

Whether you are looking to work at home as a part-time job or make it a career.  EBay has the potential to make it happen for you.  There are many successful powersellers out there today that are doing just that selling various kinds of products.  Not only does some people just make a career working on EBay, but are able to make millions.  People like Jonathon Garriss(selling shoes) and Jamie Murray(selling electronic accessories) are self made millionaires, thanks to EBay.  Because selling on EBay you don’t have to worry nearly as much as selling on your site when it comes to traffic.  One of the main concerns when it comes to selling on EBay is looking for a product that people will buy.

There are a few ways to find products to sell, if you are not the one that’s making the products you wish to sell.  One is to look for an wholesaler.  Now if you are thinking that, your not ready to make that leap because you either don’t have the money purchase inventory or the time to have to buy, package, ship, set-up and deal with customer service.  Then you might want to consider looking for a dropshipper instead of a wholesaler which would take the burden of having to package and ship off your back.  However, with that said you should be ready to make a slightly smaller profit, since generally dropshipper’s product pricing are a big higher than the average wholesalers.

For those that are not famliar with Ebay, it is a great idea to get your hands wet before you fully commit to it.  The best and most effective way to get yourself familiarize with how Ebay works and what it’s all about is sell something.  So  through your garage or basement and look for something to list on Ebay.  It may just be your first tiny step to a lifechanging online career.
